I don't need to tell you what's been happening in the world around us, so here's a bit that's been happening in my world.
March of 2020 I got a job as a part time office assistant, however, the day before I was supposed to start Covid lockdowns took effect and my new boss told me that they were postponing my start date indefinitely.
September of 2020 I finally start my job, but the company is very seasonal and they wanted to stagger who was in the office at any one time so after my training was complete I was by myself in the office for 2hrs a day, then I would go home and work at home for another 2hrs.
Mid December the company went into the slow season so I was sent home with a bunch of office supplies and worked at home for 2hrs a day until March 2021.
March 2021 I'm given my return to the office date. On that day I go in and both of the owners are there waiting for me, I was sure I was going to be fired. Instead, I'm told they sold the company (they hadn't told any of the employees they were even thinking of selling) and that the new owner was waiting to meet me.
I met the new owner, and even though I was pissed at the way the situation was handled I decided to give the new guy a chance, it wasn't his fault the previous owners handled the situation so badly.
I'm really glad I gave the new guy a chance. IMO he's a much better owner than the previous couple. He makes sure we feel appreciated and has given me a lot more responsibility. I'm now the office manager with my own assistant, I work longer hours but also make a bunch more money.
Amongst all of the job happenings I'm still working on renovating my house, our master bathroom is done and we are moving on to other areas as well as major work on the yard.
With all of this going on and all of the in person fiber shows being cancelled for two years due to Covid yarn ended up taking a back seat. However, shows are starting back up and I wanted to let you all know that my first fiber in person fiber show is about to take place!
Come see me at Shepherd's Harvest in Lake Elmo, MN May 7&8th I will have lots of your old favorites as well as a brand new colorway making its debut. It is so new it doesn't even have a name yet! Nothing like leaving it to the last minute right? :)
I hope to see you all there, be sure to let me know if you read this.
See you soon!
